Library Card Policy

Getting a Library Card

Anyone can apply for a library card. People under 16 must have the application signed by a parent or legal guardian. You must bring with you a valid form of identification, a photo I.D. and proof of address.

Register now for a temporary library card.

  • Online registrations become active immediately.
  • You can place up to 5 holds
  • Get into the online magazines & newspapers
  • Checkout and download Overdrive books & music

*You have 3 weeks to come to the library with identification to pick up your card. *If you are under 18, you may need to have a parent or legal guardian co- sign your registration when you pick up your physical card. *If you live outside of MA, you may be assessed a fee for a library card. Please contact your hometown library for further information on specific registration policies.

Loan Periods

Books:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews twice if no hold on item.

Audiobooks:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews once if no hold on item.

CDs:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews twice if no hold on item.

DVDs:   circulate for 1 week with the exception of TV series, which  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews three times if no hold on item.

Magazines:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews twice if no hold on item.

Hotspots:  circulate for 1 week.

Laptops:  in library use only.

Board Games/Puzzles:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews twice if no hold on item.

Switch Games:  circulate for 2 weeks. Automatically renews twice if no hold on item.
